The Institute of Applied Technology - Digital is a technology focussed institute at TAFE NSW Meadowbank. Working in collaboration with TAFE NSW, Microsoft, Macquarie University, and the University of Technology Sydney, the Institute of Applied Technology Digital will design and deliver market-leading training that rapidly responds to industry needs.

The Institute of Applied Technology – Construction is focused on future innovations and leadership in Construction, will be located at TAFE NSW Nepean (Kingswood) from July 2023. Working in collaboration with TAFE NSW, Western Sydney University, and CPB Contractors, the Institute of Applied Technology Construction will design and deliver market-leading training that rapidly responds to industry needs. The Institute of Applied Technology Construction is one of two learning spaces at a new $80m facility currently under construction at Kingswood.

The Institute of Applied Technology is part of wider investment in skills and education with industry by the NSW Government.

At the Institute of Applied Technology, you can study a range of Microskills and Microcredentials to develop industry-recognised skills that address your workplace or career goals.

Microskills are bite-sized, self-directed courses designed to develop a specific skill or address a particular topic. The courses are an affordable and a fast way to sharpen your skills and knowledge with relevant, targeted training and only contain a few hours of content.

This could include regulatory changes and rapid advancement in industry technologies, including niche skill requirements. 

Microskills are on demand and delivered 100% online.

Microcredential are practical and academic courses that you can apply directly to the workplace. Microcredentials include assessed learning and provide certification in industry-specific skills recognised as evidence of competence.

You can stack your courses with other Microcredentials, tailoring your learning journey to gain the skills you need to get ahead in your industry. Upon completion, your Microcredential is recorded and may give you credit toward further study pathways in the vocational and higher education sectors.

You will learn from industry experts and gain training that has been co-designed and co-delivered with industry, TAFE NSW, and university partners. 

You will graduate with both practical and academic outcomes to apply directly to the workplace.

The current Microskills are available to anyone. There are no eligibility requirements for Microskills.

Microcredentials are available to anyone. 

To be eligible for the subsidised fee you must be a permanent NSW resident, this will be verified as a part of the application process. All other students can enrol at the full non-discounted prices: $1500 (foundational), $3000 (intermediate)

If you are under 18 years of age when you commence an IAT Course, you must obtain written consent from your parental or legal guardian to enrol and participate in the IAT Course.

Please refer to the individual Microskill for information regarding fee exemption or if course fees are payable.
Foundation level Microcredentials are $180 for NSW residents, $1,500 for non-NSW residents. Intermediate level Microcredentials are $360 for NSW residents $3,000 for non-NSW residents.
